PROJECT BRIEF

The My Intern project was an end-to-end endeavor by our team, focusing on building a comprehensive web-platform that serves as the UK's premier destination for internship and student opportunities. From the initial stages of logo creation and branding to the intricate development of product features, app design, and a robust social media presence, every element was crafted with the user experience in mind. The platform stands out for its advanced search and filter functionalities, enabling users to effortlessly navigate through the vast array of listings. Additionally, we integrated gated content and membership options, alongside portals for recruitment stakeholders, to cater to diverse user needs. This technical and design sophistication aimed to address the common challenges in the internship search process, offering a streamlined, efficient solution that enhances the way students and graduates connect with potential career opportunities.

THE PROCESS

Onboarding Phase (five days):
Projects such as this will typically undergo the following process: Commencing with an initial meeting, we engaged in in-depth discussions to ascertain project briefs and goals. This was followed by the completion of a comprehensive client questionnaire to gather essential insights. Subsequently, we presented a detailed quote and proposal, facilitating further discussions during a subsequent onboarding meeting. With terms finalized, a contract agreement was established, accompanied by necessary financial arrangements to initiate the project. Clear timelines and delivery dates were set to ensure alignment and transparency.

Strategy Phase (one-three weeks):
In this pivotal phase, we delved into strategic planning through collaborative workshops and the creation of a business mood board. Future vision and goal setting sessions were conducted to delineate the project's overarching objectives. An in-depth analysis of current strategies, coupled with market research and trend analysis, informed the formulation of a detailed strategic digital plan. Iterative workshops ensured the refinement and alignment of strategies, culminating in the delivery of a comprehensive strategic blueprint.

Logo + Branding Phase (two-five weeks):Central to establishing the project's identity was the development of a distinctive logo and branding elements. This phase commenced with the exploration of initial logo design concepts, iteratively refined through client feedback and consultation. Simultaneously, foundational branding concepts were laid out, with multiple iterations and meetings to ensure alignment with the project's vision. The culmination of this phase saw the delivery of a comprehensive logo and branding package, capturing the essence of the platform's identity.

Web-App Design + Development Phase (three-six weeks):
With the branding elements in place, attention turned towards the creation of a bespoke membership only web-app / platform. A collaborative workshop set the stage for conceptualizing the site's design, user experience, and navigation, followed by iterative design meetings to refine the layout and aesthetics. Concurrent development efforts brought the platform to life, with rigorous testing and optimization ensuring a seamless user experience. Responsive site alterations, content addition, and SEO optimization were undertaken to enhance visibility and accessibility. The project culminated in a strategic launch, maximizing impact and engagement within the target audience.

App Design Phase (two-four weeks):
Following the completion of the web platform, the project extended to the development of native iOS and Android applications to further enhance accessibility and user engagement. This final phase commenced with a thorough examination of user requirements and platform specifications to ensure seamless integration with the existing web infrastructure. Initial design concepts were formulated, focusing on user interface (UI) elements, navigation, and app functionality. Iterative design meetings facilitated the refinement of the app's aesthetics and user experience, ensuring alignment with established branding guidelines. Concurrently, development efforts were initiated to bring the app's features to fruition, leveraging platform-specific technologies and frameworks. Rigorous testing was conducted across various devices and operating systems to identify and rectify any issues or inconsistencies. The culmination of this phase marked the delivery of fully functional native iOS and Android applications, complementing the web platform and providing users with a cohesive and immersive experience across multiple devices and platforms. This comprehensive approach aimed to maximize accessibility and engagement, further solidifying the platform's position as the premier destination for internship and student opportunities in the UK.

OUTCOMES

The logo for "My Intern" was designed with the intention of conveying trust, modernity, and appeal, aligning with the platform's mission to connect students with internships. The concept cleverly combines the shape of a graduation hat with a figure to form the letter 'i', seamlessly fitting into the "My Intern" brand name. This design choice ensures the logo's adaptability across various media, crucial for maintaining brand consistency on digital and print platforms. Its recognizable nature aims to make "My Intern" stand out in a crowded marketplace. Furthermore, the process of trademarking the logo, supported by TWEDO Design Studio, was a step towards safeguarding the brand's visual identity, emphasizing a careful and considered approach to establishing a strong and protected brand presence..

The "My Intern" platform was meticulously crafted to be sleek, simple, and highly useful, embodying the essence of an intuitive user experience. At its core, the platform utilizes a high-level CMS, enabling seamless content management and ensuring that users always have access to the latest internship opportunities and resources. This foundation supports the implementation of advanced search and filter functions, which are key to the platform's ability to match students with the most relevant internships based on their skills, interests, and career aspirations. Additionally, the introduction of memberships and gated content adds an exclusive layer to the user experience, offering more personalized services and resources to help students navigate their internship search more effectively. These features, combined with the platform's streamlined design, make "My Intern" not just a tool for finding internships but a resource for career development. Additionally to the active web-app, TWEDO also designed a native IOS + ANDROID application in full, allowing future growth and further development playing into the long-term strategy for MY INTERN.
